Although it is usually connected to Winter sports like downhill skiing andcross-country skiing, which are very popular in our country, it offers many opportunities to do other, less popular sport disciplines, which are gathering more and more fans.
The slopes of Szrenica – one of the highest peaks in the Karkonosze - towering over the city, are wonderful for ski-touring. Our mountains can also be climbed with snow rockets.
The ski slopes of various difficulty levels allow you to ski or snowboard even in April. In 2010, a new ropeway, the Karkonosze Express, has been opened. This six-person “moving couch” is the longest and most modern such ski lift in Poland. It gets skiers to the top in 8.5 minute.
