Each spring, the Kamienna River becomes a Mecca for lovers of canoeing.
As the name suggests, the bottom of the river, is strewn with stones. In early spring, the snow lying thick on the mountains starts to melt, and the riverbed is filled with rushing stream. These conditions are a great challenge for mountain canoeists.
Going to Szklarska Poręba during that time, take the 3/E65 road, which runs along the river, and you can admire daredevils who are not afraid of the river’s meanders, struggling against the tide. Every, year after the spring melting, the championships in AMP Kamienna Mountain Canoeing take place.
Competitions are organized since 1984 and attract many lovers of the sport, both members of sports clubs and canoeing enthusiasts. Anyone can take part in the championship, provided they have appropriate skills and equipment.
